This is the itty-bitty connector for the Nokia color LCD. 10-Pins. Surface mount. Hard to find. 0.5mm pitch so be careful.
Can it be soldered by hand? Yes! Owen managed to solder wire wrap wire to the individual legs for testing - but then again, he's a magician. We can solder it well with a good PCB layout and easily with a stencil and hotplate.
This connector is a copy of the Hirose DF23 Series. You can use the Hirose spec sheet to lay out your PCB footprint.
This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.
Skill Level: Competent - You will encounter surface mount components and basic SMD soldering techniques are required.

Where can I get an Eagle library for this?
Wondering where i can find the mating connector for this one? hirose only sells in reels of 2K
Farnell sells both the plug and receptical of this connector, and they are availiable as single items rather than bulk. (farnell code: 1874449 is this connector, code: 1874460 is its mating connector).
Thanks for finding this part! I took apart my old phone (Nokia 2600) and found an LCD that looks like the one sold here so I decided to buy this connector to test it. I soldered magnet wire to the back of the leads using the Sparkfun 936B soldering station and then super glued it to a piece of stripboard. So far I have managed to light the LED backlight of the display but need to read up on connecting it to microcontrollers.
My kingdom for one of these! :) Apparently a breakout was sold for this at one point in Europe, ready-to-go for breadboard use:

Unsoldered: http://elektronicaonderdelen.eu/?page=product&id=1487
With connector soldered: http://elektronicaonderdelen.eu/?page=product&id=1488
I made a breakout board for this from copper plate with a utility knife. Soldered and working! But cannot recommend the process :D
The question was for LCD-08600. Sorry, commented on the wrong page. :)
Hi,
do you sell a breakout board without the lcd itself?
Hey, does anyone know how to solder this piece? Best practices?
Oh thought it would be under connectors or something.
