Replacement: None. We are no longer carrying this LPC interface in our catalog. This page is for reference only.
This is a specialized serial interface programmer for the LPC ARM series ICs that have the Phillips bootloader. Used in conjunction with the LPC2000 Flash Utility, this board will allow the user to easily switch between program and debug modes.
This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.
Skill Level: Noob - Some basic soldering is required, but it is limited to a just a few pins, basic through-hole soldering, and couple (if any) polarized components. A basic soldering iron is all you should need.

If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.
Skill Level: Noob - You don't need to reference a datasheet, but you will need to know basic power requirements.

This could be cooler.
It is using DTR to control the RESET line, but they did not hook up RTS to control P0.14 (BSL). I duplicated the DTR/RESET circuit (D1, R1, R2, Q1), for RST/BSL using through hole parts, and removed R5. Now I don't need to reach over and flip the switch every time I program a chip. lpc21isp takes care of all the switch flipping. That gives me the functionality of the aeolus programmer at half the price.
