Color 24-Bit LCD 4.3" PSP Touch Screen

Replacement: None. This product has been discontinued, but have a look at our other color LCDs. This page is for reference only.

This is a 4-wire resistive analog touch screen. Intended to mate with the 24-Bit PSP display, this unit comes with a handy adhesive backing to stick to the PSP display. 4-wire ribbon with 1mm pitch.

This touch screen is not intended to be hacked into an off-the-shelf Play Station Portable. It is solely meant to be a nice add-on to our 24-Bit color display.

We bought this touch screen last year for a project we made (http://reseau.erasme.org/Interactive-Globe-technical). It's very easy to work with, and does a great job for our purpose. It's also pretty scratch safe, since it has been in a public exhibit for several months without visible scratch.
    As always, Sparfun rules !

ANNOUNCEMENT: I took apart My old PSP 2001. There is no connector (obviously), but, you can get rid of those little specks that build up. You have to remove the two back screws, the two at the top, the one on the bottom, and the one behind the bottom warranty sticker. removing this sticker will void any warranty form Sony. I didn't really care because mine is four years old.

you COULD hack your PSP into a pda, though...

Hi, I got a silly question: Is this a touchscreen or just a sensor? Is it able to display anything?

    • Kamiquasi / about 13 years ago / 1

      This is just the 'sensor' part of what you might normally call a touch'screen'. The 'screen' part is listed in the related products;

    Hello all,
Is this touch screen flexible? I am looking for a flexible touch screen that provides multi-touch capability, any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot!

Sony will release a PSP with a touchscreen eventually.

  • member99283 / about 15 years ago / 1

    what are the dimentions

  • aaron357 / about 16 years ago / 1

The PSP is not designed to take touchscreen input, and the games won't work with it anyway.
The molex part that c395 posted should work, I have an order in from Digikey and will post results.

  • Troy J. Farrell / about 16 years ago / 1

I wonder if these Molex connectors from Digi-Key will work:

you need to open the psp and put on ur screen and to connect it you lift the screen and follow the thin wire and plug it in but dont unplug the psp screen cause you wont know what ur touching

  • dante-BR / about 16 years ago / 1

how i install this on PSP???

    • This is not meant to be installed in a PSP. We carry this screen so that people can build it into their own electronic device/project. If there is some way to install this into the Play Station Portable, we do not know of it.

  • Stef Trunzo / about 16 years ago / 1

Does anyone know where i can find a tutorial to attach this to my psp?

  • leucos / about 16 years ago / 1

Somehow the url above has been broken.

jamis : you usually can find some in floppy drives. I just scrounged 2 of them there.
Also, many things with small motors probably contains some (VCR, hard drives).

If anyone has a link or any information as to were we can find a connector for these, please post!
    Thanks!
