We're heading to O-H-I-O for some robotics and workshop action!
In the next week, SparkFun will be traveling all around (namely the NSTA conference in San Antonio and the Cambridge Science Festival) and there's a good chance you'll get to see us! A couple of us are heading to Ohio for the National Robotics Challenge in Marion, OH. This event takes place on April 11th-13th, and Pete Dokter and I will be there.
NRC has been a great resource for schools working with robotics for a number of years and we're glad to be returning. Last year we saw some pretty awesome and innovative uses of technology and we can't wait to see what people have cooked up this year.
In addition to NRC, we'll be in Columbus on Saturday the 13th running a workshop with The Fuse Factory. We're really excited to lead a class exploring the Makey Makey with the good folks over at Fuse. The workshop will go through an introduction to the board and some techniques for working with it, as well as interfacing it to other programs. The workshop will take place at The Forge (Smith Bros. building), 580 N. Fourth Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215 on Saturday the 13th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Both of these events are sure to be a blast! If you're in the area, we hope to see you!
You guys should come out to Robogames next week!
You took a picture of my robot and gave me a t-shirt at NRC, thanks guys!
Here was the wish-list my team used: https://www.sparkfun.com/wish_lists/22538
Except we converted it to servos instead of motors.
Ohio? Wish I knew we were going to Columbus! My family lives there. I still remember the big Smith Brothers Hardware fire back in the 90's. Check out COSI and Micro Center while you're in town.
YES! Sparkfun in Ohio! I'm definitely coming to NRC to see you guys!
FINALLY. I may actually be able to make it up there!
Edit: Ouch. ACT week. I'm afraid I wont be able to visit you all. It hurts. Its only an hour away.
Yup, me and Jeff Branson will be hangin at the NRC. Should be arriving tomorrow night some time.
