Hello everyone! We hope you all had a safe and happy Fourth of July (if you celebrate)! We are back again with even new products and, based on the title, you might be able to tell that this week is all about Hakko! Yes, that's right, Hakko is back at SparkFun Electronics in the form of a new soldering iron, soldering tips, and new hand tools! Without further ado, let's jump in and take a closer look at each of this week's new products.
The HAKKO FX-888DX Digital Soldering Station improves the user interface from the FX-888D using a more intuitive method for adjusting temperature and includes a parameter lock to prevent accidental digital calibration of the station when attempting to change temperature. The new temperature dial combined with the digital display makes it easier than ever to set and see the temperature while also increasing its power.
These are replacement soldering tips for the Hakko FX-888DX soldering iron. We carry these tips in three varieties, 3mm Bevel (T18-C3), Chisel (T18-D16), and Conical (T18-B). Replacing the tip is easy - once the iron is cool, simply unscrew the shield, slip the replacement tip in, and screw the shield back on.
This is a perfect tool for a flush cut and one of the most popular cutting tools available. Diagonal cutters are good, but if you really need to get up close and personal, flush cutters are the way to go.
This is a very strong multi-use tool. The Hakko 30AWG wire strippers can be used as shears, multi-diameter, and pliers. These are an essential part of anybody's arsenal and can strip 30AWG wire wrap wire nicely, as well as the standard 22AWG hook-up wire.
