Welcome to 2015! We hope this year will be a big one for new cool products. We have a lot of plans for new tutorials, demos, and more. This week we're a little short-staffed with the holiday season, but we still have a few new products for you. Check it out!
The rotary switches are yet another product suggestion that came from our customers (that's YOU!). Keep the suggestions coming. Use the "What's on your mind?" form at the bottom of the page to let us know what you'd like to see us carry.
Rotary switches make it easy to switch between different resistor values or other configurations. The 10-position rotary switch has a nice click to each position and can handle a decent amount of current. You can wire directly to the pins, or use the breakout board below.
The breakout board works with the 10-position rotary switch picture above. It has 4 mounting holes, and a 0.1" spaced row of holes for connecting to headers.

We have a lot of new standoffs this week. These are 6-32 aluminum standoffs that come in packs of 4. Although they are made to be used with the Actobotics product line, you can use them with anything you want, we don't judge. Check out the standoff category for our entire selection.

I agree, the sound quality is poor.
What's up with the sparkfun sign in the background? Every so often, the last LED in the bottom right corner of the sign gets the wrong color - usually instead of white, it's yellow. It stays that color during the pause, and then as soon as the letters start turning red that last LED goes white. This happens a few times during the video. And during the first pass in the closing title, with Robert in the inset box above the new year party, the last LED is purple when the rest of the LEDs are red.
Does the code have a glitch in it that doesn't always update the last LED properly? Or is it intentional and you're just looking to see who will notice? ;)

I thought it was just me. I think Robert needs to nestle some LEDs in his beard to compete with the sign in the background.
Yes, that sign is somewhat distracting... I spend too much time looking at it (as evidenced by my other comment to this video.) Maybe it wouldn't be so distracting if it did a slow fade between colors?
