Welcome back to another Friday Product Post! This week we have a couple new products for you to check out: something that can be used as a great entry point to electronics, and something for those of you who are more initiated and want to pump up the jams. Let's watch!
Two fine products for this equally fine Friday!
First up this week is the littleBits Gizmos and Gadgets Kit. This ultimate invention toolkit contains everything you need to design and create large, powerful projects just by snapping a few magnets together. Included in the Gizmos and Gadgets Kit are 15 littleBits modules that can be attached together, a 9V alkaline battery and cable, a full-color instruction booklet with 12 fun projects to create, and all the accessories and tools to make them. With this kit you will be able to easily make a multitude of projects including: a remote controlled racecar, an automatic bubble blower, or even a wireless doorbell! All of this comes in a large cardboard box perfect for storage and transportation purposes.
Second up is the new revision of the MP3 Trigger! This board is a collaboration with Robertsonics and has been built from the ground up to make MP3 sound integration easier than ever. The board has 18 external trigger pins that will directly trigger pre-selected MP3 tracks, and a full-duplex serial control port that provides transport control, remote triggering for up to 256 tracks, and fast, real-time volume control. MP3s are stored on FAT16 formatted SDSC or FAT32 formatted SDHC micro-SD flash memory cards. In addition, optimized code can achieve 192Kbps stereo playback from a wider range of cards.
This version of the MP3 Trigger includes firmware that supports the use of an initialization file on the microSD card, which can be used to change the serial baud rate, as well as to repurpose any of the 18 trigger inputs to alternate functions, such as random and sequential triggers, navigation controls and even volume controls. In addition, a restart lockout option can be used to prevent any trigger from starting a track if audio is already playing.
