Welcome, everyone, to another Friday Product Post at SparkFun Electronics! We take time each Friday and Monday to talk about all our new products from the week to quickly talk about their features and maybe even make a fun and informative video showcasing them! This Friday, we actually have only a couple new products, because we are working on a new board behind the scenes (released in a few weeks) that we're very excited about. For now let's jump in!

Its a pretty good apPROXimation of the subject

The SparkFun Proximity Sensor Breakout is a simple IR presence and ambient light sensor utilizing the VCNL4040. This type of sensor is often seen in automatic towel and soap dispensers, or automatic faucets. With the ability to detect objects qualitatively up to 20cm away, you will be able to detect whether something is there, and whether it is closer or further away since the last reading. Utilizing our handy Qwiic system, no soldering is required to connect it to the rest of your system. However, we still have broken out 0.1"-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a breadboard.

The SparkFun Inventor's Kit for Photon is a great way to get started in the IoT world with WiFi development. The SparkFun Inventor’s Kit for Photon provides you not only with the Photon RedBoard, but everything you need to hook up and experiment with multiple electronic circuits! We've updated the multi-color push buttons and resistors with wider leads to make this SIK even easier to use! With the Photon SIK you will be able to complete circuits that will teach you how to read sensors, drive motors and more.

That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made!

We'll be back next week with even more fantastic new products!
