SparkFun JetBot AI Kit v2.0
The newest version of the robotics kit powered by Jetson Nano is now available!
It was almost a year ago that the original SparkFun JetBot AI Kit was released. We are happy to announce Version 2.0 is now available for purchase!
We understand that not everyone has access to multiple 3D printers on each floor and a whole warehouse of electronics, so we wanted to build a kit from ready-to-assemble parts to get you up and running as quickly as possible. This version of the SparkFun JetBot AI Kit is a great launchpad for creating entirely new AI projects for makers, students and enthusiasts who already own a Jetson Nano and are looking to take the next step with their machine learning platform.
So what has changed? Great question, reader! The following changes have been implemented to the JetBot AI Kit v2.0:
- The Jetson Nano Developer Kit has been updated to the new B01 revision with two MIPI-CSI camera connectors.
- The JetBot chassis was been completely retooled out of a non-conductive plastic, and is lower to the ground. This reduces the likelihood of ESD between the base and Jetson, and makes it less top-heavy.
- The SparkFun Qwiic pHAT has been updated to v2.0, featuring vertical Qwiic connectors.
- Wider wheels enable the JetBot to operate on carpeted surfaces.
- ...and the price is $25 lower!
Customize your frequencies
As you saw in the video, we do plan to release JetBot v2.1 in April. This is mainly due to issues with COVID-19 affecting shipping timelines. The changes you can expect are minimal: the camera will move from a 145° FOV to a 136° FOV (for better resolution), and the 10-pack of jumper wires will be reduced to two.
Between JetBots v2.0 and v2.1 there will be no increase in price, and functionally, they are nearly identical. This will allow those of you who can't wait to get your hands on the newest JetBot a leg up on everyone else.
