The Treeduino is back!

Thought the Christmas season was officially over? Think again!

Last year, we posted a cool project from SparkFun customers Jacob Ford and Zach Cross called the "Treeduino." Basically, the Treeduino was a standard Christmas tree outfitted with an Arduino and an ethernet shield. It was interfaced to the web and to UStream to allow users to change the lights at will. Well, good news - the Treeduino is back! Check it out:

Check out their website to mess with the controls. This year, you can change the color of the star, the tree's lights, turn on and off the banister lights, and a few other things. It's an awesome and oh-so-festive project that is sure to bring a smile to your face. Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Really dont care for the advertising in the beginning. Its enough to force me to go to a different page and skip this one altogether.

I would really, really, really like to go ad-free - but can't. UStream's best plan ($999/mo) wouldn't even come close to enough viewer hours.

I've of course shopped around as well, but haven't had much luck elsewhere either...

To be fair, Ustream starts charging a lot of money if you choose to be ad-free.

Just making sure you know about Cheerlights. It's a similar thing but worldwide and twitter based. I have some pictures of mine on my blag and there is also the Cheerlights wobsite.

  • its a great project for schools or people new to soldering.

I've been looking for a relay board like that! Any ideas where I can find something similar?

After a quick Google search, this looks pretty affordable: http://www.futurlec.com/Relay_8.shtml

There are also many different designs flying around in the DIY Christmas Forums:
