Today is the final reminder to sign up for the SparkFun Soldering Competition. The SparkFun Soldering Competition is the brain-child of our amazing production department, home of the fastest soldering irons in the West. I mean, these guys/gals down there will have a fine-pitch, 50-component SMD board soldered faster than you can say, "Um, shouldn't you just use solder paste?"
The competition essentially works like this: On April 28th, 2012, we'll descend on Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids in Longmont, Colo. The event will be set up bracket style, with the fastest solderers moving on to the next round. Eventually, only one will remain. There is also a competition for the buckaroos (read: kids) with 25 open spots (first come, first served).
Not only will there be delicious food/beverages and intense competition, but their will also be fabulous prizes (cue the oohing and aahing). First place will receive $500 in cash money, with second place getting $250, and third $100. All medalists will also receive gift certificates to Oskar Blues. So sign up today!
