This weekend (April 28th and 29th), the USA Science & Engineering Festival is taking place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This is one of the only true "nationwide" science fairs, and has representatives from all over the country with some pretty amazing projects. In short, you should check it out!
The fair will take place on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and is free of charge. And - SparkFun will be in attendance! We will be hosting a few of our popular soldering workshops (like the Simon PTH and the LectroCandle). If you're in the area, stop by USASEF and say hi! Even if you are already a soldering guru, the projects represented at the fair are sure to spark your inner inventor. Hope to see you there!
But the Soldering Competition is this weekend! :o
Well, of course - if you're in Colorado come to the soldering competition. But if you find yourself in D.C., USASEF is the next best thing!
Come by the NASA booths and you may see a few hardware bits from SparkFun too
Just stopped by the booth, first really interacting with you guys. Wish I had something like that when I was a kid, keep doing what you're doing guys.
I'll be there!
I wish I could go this year :/
I'm in the same boat, well maybe next year...
finally!!!! something near dc that i can actually go to!!!!
A celebration of science and engineering! Great idea!
In other news, University of Florida closes computer science program:
http://developers.slashdot.org/story/12/04/22/2326206/university-of-florida-eliminates-computer-science-department
If you read the article, they're removing the department and MERGING it with their ECE department. There's a lot of debate between CS being a standalone department and merging it with ECE.
Overall, nothing will change in their curriculum, just be strictly a teaching department.
Where will your booth be located?
Great question - I'll try to find that out.
After some searching, I found it on their website. It says the SparkFun booth is in Hall B at Booth Number 2045.
Nice detective work - I was just about to post the same thing. Thanks!
Maybe I am inept at map reading, but from the expo map I am looking at right now, the smallest booth number in hall B is 2345. Is there a typo in the post, or is the map I got from http://www.usasciencefestival.org partially useless (just like that web site right now)?
