This is the last - really - reminder of the upcoming SparkFun Soldering Competition.
Today is the final (really, final this time!) reminder to sign up for the SparkFun Soldering Competition that is taking place this Saturday, April 28th. The SparkFun Soldering Competition is the brain-child of our production department, who decided to make a competition out of what they know better than just about anyone - soldering!
The competition works like this: On April 28th, 2012, we'll descend on Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids in Longmont, Colo. The event is set up in traditional tournament bracket style, with the fastest competitors moving on. There is also a division for kids on a first-come, first-served basis.
There be delicious food/beverages and intense competition, but their will also be fabulous prizes. First place will receive $500 in cash, with second place getting $250, and third $100. All medalists will also receive gift certificates to Oskar Blues. So sign up today! If you'd like to attend as just a spectator, please register at our EventBrite page (it's free!). Hope to see you there!
Oskar Blues - Ten Fidy... Damn you're delicious! I'm surprised I can even find it in NH.
They're getting pretty broad distribution these days.
I'm still kicking myself for not taking their tour when you guys had me up for your Christmas party last year. I had no idea they were just up the road.
Next time you're in town, give IT a holler and we can do the whole Boulder County Beer Circuit.
Maybe not all at once though. It's a pretty long circuit.
My state is sorely neglected -- I mean, look at all those "N"s in Alaska...
I shall bring my Soldering Iron of Justice.
What, no Soldering Iron of Speed +2?
Since my Soldering Iron of Butt Kicking has been used with lead, I shall be wielding a Soldering Iron of Sparkfun.
And I, my Soldering Iron of Vengeance!
Any news? I assume it was held and there were winners?
You guys did a great job with this contest. I look forward to doing this again next year and taking the trophy that rightfully belongs to me. (To the guys who did place though, you were incredible with not only soldering but assembly as well.)
Hey! I know this isn't really related, but I emailed SparkFun Marketing about FIRST Team 3729's robot and possibly bringing it to AVC to show off, but I've yet to hear a response :(
How long does it usually take Marketing to get back to people?
Hi Dovahklln,
I'm the Project manager for the Marketing Department. The marketing email tends to get really backed up. I'll be sure to mention your request to our Marketing Assistant. He will be able to respond shortly.
Thanx!
You guys are awesome. Thanks!
Any chance of Live Coverage?
I could call and tell you what is happening.
Could ya call me too?
Yes. I will personally call every person after every round.
Wouldn't it be easier to just tweet updates?
No live coverage this year. Though there will be a post-competition video recap that is sure to entertain!
