What should every hacker have available to them? That's right, a screwdriver (you have to get into those cases somehow). What makes screwdrivers even better is when there are a variety of interchangeable bits to use in different situations as you need them. This Pocket Screwdriver Set provides you with just that service in a small, portable package.
Each Pocket Screwdriver Set offers 7 different chrome vanadium bits, four flathead options and three Phillips head options, that fit snuggly in the quick-change magnetic holder at the tip of the screwdriver. The screwdriver's body is made from a hardened anodized aluminum body with a knurled finger grip to make sure you get the maximum amount of grip while in use. Storage isn't an issue for the bits either, a cap can be unscrewed at the end of the body of the screwdriver to expose its hollow innards that can easily fits each bit with space to spare.
Whether it's for assembling a kit, hacking an enclosure, or creating your own parts; the DIY skill is all about knowing how to use tools and the techniques associated with them.

I bought this on a whim after having purchased a cheap plastic pen type screwdriver from a retail store that destroyed itself within 2 days. I am really glad I got this because it has been very useful and it fits perfectly well in my work uniforms pen pocket. Definitely would buy another if this one got stolen or something.

But not more. Seriously save the money to get a set of stanleys. I mean I was not expecting Wiha but I did think that it would be less of a pain to use. You have to unscrew the end, dump all the heads out to then put the unused heads back in and screw the cap up again just to make a change. It is cheap.
Good value, comfortable to use, and convenient form factor for EDC.
Tips are not held very securely by the magnet so easy to swap out, but you can't leave your favorite bit installed while carrying around your pocket/backpack without risking loosing it.
I bought one years ago and have been using it ever since. Light, compact, high quality bits, works perfectly and all that. But the best thing about it is that it passes airport security (unlike most multiple mini-screwdriver sets). At home I use dedicated screwdrivers; when traveling, I'm never without this.
I got one as part of a birthday gift from my parents a few years back. Still going strong, and I have added additional bits from other small screwdriver kits (Husky has a couple with the same size pieces). While I have occasionally experienced bit-jamming in the handle compartment, just a solid thunk against a desk is enough to get them out.
Just wish the cap had a free-spinning top to press my thumb against when adjusting screws.
I received one of these as part of a Tool Bag Kit, but three of the bits are jammed waaay in the back of the internal space. Is there a way you recommend to get these out of there?
Whup, nevermind! Got 'em out after a few good whacks.
Mine was broken when I received it today... The little magnet that holds the bit in place came out right after I put the first bit into it... The bits were also "jammed" in the back of the thing. Not going to bother returning it, but I don't really recommend buying it either (even if it is only $4).
a replacement is on its way! we apologize for this and thank you for choosing SparkFun!
Nice screwdriver set for the money. I bought 2. There may be some variation with the included bits. One set had Phillips #00, #0, #1, and #2, and flat 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5. The second set was almost the same, with a flat 1.5 in place of the 2.0. Neither was quite what is listed above. No big deal, especially at the price, but note that the included bits may not be exactly what you expect.
Intel used to give away blue versions of these with their SSD's. They work well and are small enough to always keep with you. I might buy a few in sparkfun red, just to have some variety.
Gah. I just bought a set of like 20 tiny screwdrivers from Sears (including #0, #00, #000, and #0000). This would have been perfect! Cheaper and more compact.
I might just pick this up anyway and throw it in my glovebox or something.
You should test the #00 on the late 2011 model MacBook Pros and see if it fits. I've seen some cheap #00 bits that don't actually fit those chassis screws.
Sears still exists?! :)
ouch.
well it's only $4, i say go for it. I get into macbook pros quite easily by the way, i got a tiny compaq screwdriver if i could only find it. I inherited 3 macbook pros, all of which i repaired to working order, my dad and my younger brother are now one macbook richer as well as i, though i got the largest of the three, a 15 incher while the others got a 13.3 inch. I could not be happier, its old but its gold and i can't complain. This screw driver set would have made it easier though.
Are these bits the same size as SFE's other screw driver [ https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10865 ] ?
Just tested it out, yes they are!
