A kit for using the Raspberry Pi 256GB NVMe SSD with the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+. This provides a simple way to add large storage options to the Raspberry Pi 5 or boot the OS from an SSD. You'll need to purchase a Raspberry Pi 5 separately.
One of the most exciting aspects of the PCI-E compatibility of the Raspberry Pi 5 is the ability to use M.2 NVMe SSDs instead of a microSD card. Raspberry Pi has provided us with an approved SSD for use with the Raspberry Pi 5. This 256GB NVMe SSD comes to us from Raspberry Pi. It features 40K IOPS (4KB random read) and 70k IOPS (4KB random write) when using a 1-lane PCI-e 2.0 Bus like the one found on the Raspberry Pi 5. This SSD comes blank and requires an external enclosure or interface to image an OS if you plan on booting off of it.
