This is an inner thread (outer nut) adapter that will connect to any of our wireless boards or interface cables and allow you to use an antenna/cable that has an outer thread configuration.
You should not need this adapter with any of our antennas or dev boards. These adapters are listed only to help SparkFun users that have rare or odd antenna coupling needs. Be sure to check out the SMA connector tutorial here for more information on SMA connectors.
Supported Connections: Any RP-SMA or SMA antenna, cable, or connector that uses an outer thread design. All Spark Fun antennas use an inner thread (outer nut) design.

connector for dome
Oh also Matt b you are confusing yourself with sma connectors male refers to the pin on the inside of the thread not the thread itself with rp-sma it still the pin but it's the opposite of the sma so the pin sticking out is a female while accepting the pin is a male it's not like a av cable. Alot of websites are dishonest and try to mislabe stuff and give you one pic not showing the pins the one thing I can say about this site I like is they try to be honest multiple pics and they warn you to look at the pics also I think i know why some connectors are impossible to find I saw one listed rp-sma double male it was $46.95 I think it might be a Patten issue or possibly a FCC issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong but using this with the rp-sma male to sma female would lead to a rp-sma double male that everyone wants wish they where both gold plated though. If I'm right I think I deserve a comp. Just go ahead and send one of each to my address on file thanks.
Yep, thanks for pointing that out!
Jordii, I agree, this is a SMA Male to RPSMA Female - also see http://www.allendale-stores.co.uk/wifi/images/rp_standard_orientation.jpg
Damn, how confusing. I meant it's NOT an SMA Male to RPSMA Female; and that its actually an SMA Male to RPSMA Male. See http://www.allendale-stores.co.uk/wifi/images/rp_standard_orientation.jpg
Is wrong, the correct name is:
SMA Male to RPSMA MALE Adapter, check here:
