Robotic Claw Pan/Tilt Bracket

Replacement:ROB-11674. This was replaced by the MKII version of the pan-tilt bracket. This page is for reference only.

This is a pan/tilt bracket designed specifically to work with the robotic claw that we sell. It comes with all of the hardware you need to connect it to the claw and even includes the 'tilt' control servo. Panning can be controlled by attaching a medium servo to the bracket milled into the base of the arm; it's the same size servo that fits the robotic claw, you can find it in the related products below).

Note: This does not include the panning servo or the robotic claw, you will need to buy those separately. Check the related products below.

**Note: **These pan/tilt brackets aren't compatible with the new Robotic Claw MKII, a revision is in the works. In the meantime this is still compatible with the original Robotic Claw and an all-around nice pan/tilt.

  • 4" long at full extension, 1 x 2.5" footprint

Does anyone know which enclosure is used in the last photo? Thanks!

Can we get the arduino sketch, schematic, & other info on how to make the claw setup that you have in the last pic.

A team of students and I built a robotic arm using this plus the claw. It was a great product for us especially given our budget. Check it out here.(youtube)

One tip: We had issues where when the claw was mounted the large tilt servo would become almost uncontrollable. Physical resonance in the system matched up with that of the servo. The servo would see a spike in the claw's motion and kick back the other way to stop it. Instead of this damping out to nothing as usual the condition would perpetuate itself. To fix it we just removed the 4 screws that attach the servo to the outside U bracket. With these removed the issue stopped and the arm was still quite secure.

Does anyone have a link to the bottom/base that is shown in the last photo?

Hello, I was wondering if this came with two servos, the pan one and the tilt one. It seems like it should given the $30 price. Also, is another servo required to operate the claw? So three servos in total, am I correct? Thanks for your help.

the title is misleading. when i first read this i assumed the robot claw is included.

These comments on the new product post provide some additional information about the product.

Now all we need is an arduino sketch for that layout & a schematic on how to put everything together, 'cause I'd really love to have that on my work bemch.

its funny i would pay at least 30 for the claw, and maaaaaaaaaybe 10 for this pan tilt thing.

I don't know. I think the claw is $10. So $30 for two job specific brackets, a servo, all mounting hardware and wrench doesn't seem too bad. It looks like the servos alone go for $11 on SFE.

    Greetings,
What exactly this item includes: how many parts/servos...
    Thanks a lot

    • Everything but the last picture of the fully built arm. It includes the main body bracket with servo, the other rotating bracket, and all the hardware shown in the 4th picture.
I'll get a picture of just this bracket built up so you can see what it looks like alone when it's assembled.

What is that board at the base of the arm assembly?
