The RetroCade is an open source MegaWing for the Papilio Pro that allows you to make some totally radical MIDI music straight from your FPGA board. This is an extremely flexible synthisizer that both musicians and hackers will love! The RetroCade can be used with any external MIDI control interface or your favorite audio sequencing software but there is a built in custom VST (Virtual Studio Technology) dashboard which gives you visual control over all the various parameters the MegaWing has to offer.

MegaWings are FPGA add-ons that plug straight into a Papilio Pro board and provide everything needed for a specific application in one convenient PCB. Since this RetroCade is a MegaWing it won't work on it's own so make sure you have, or pick up a Papilio Pro, if you want to enjoy some sweet retro music.

The RetroCade MegaWing comes packed with the classic Commodore 64 SID and Yamaha YM2149 audio chip emulation, three MIDI jacks (IN, OUT, and THROUGH), two ¼” Stereo Audio Jacks, a 16x2 HD44780 LCD and a TPA511GLFS digital joystick for standalone control, and a microSD card slot to expand your RetroCade's storage space to enjoy all your music anytime you want.
