This kit contains all the necessary boards to create a Rotary Phone including the GM862 module, antenna, and ringer board. The main board has connections for the Hook, Rotary, Handset, and (optional) Key Pad. This board will work with most rotaries and standard 3x4 touch pads but we****cannot guarantee compatibility with your phone (Rotary, Princess, Candlestick, Mickey, or other).****This kit is what we load into the standard rotary phone after we've torn out the insides and terminated the important connections. Boards come fully assembled, tested, and preloaded with the latest Rotary firmware. Mainboard requires 3.4 to 4.0V at 2A. Does not include battery (we recommend single cell 3.7V LiPoly), or SIM card (sorry - you can't use our account).
The GM862 cellular module from Telit works within any country that has one of the 900MHz/1800MHz/1900MHz cellular bands (90% of the world).

An already RETIRED "New Product"?
There must be some sort of an issue with the thing. FCC? Copyright? Reliability/functionality?
It's actually that the GM862 module has been EOL'ed by the manufacturer. I think catalog added this to the storefront so customers could see how we hacked the Port-o-rotary phones if they search for a kit.
"How we built it!" is dead... There are other copies of the GM862 still available, through other manufacturers... I could really use this, for a couple of special projects, for my wife and I, as well as possible gifts for a few people...
