What I exactly need to program this board?
1. (HW) Development Board STR712 ARM
2. (HW) JTAG Programmer/Debugger for ARM processors
3. (SW) CodeSourcery GCC toolchain
4. My PC
5. ???
...ooo one more. No ParallelPort LPT1 on my PC... :-(
reemrevnivek:
Can this be programmed in C or does it need to be assembly? Any "Getting Started" guide. I've done some Arduino and PIC stuff and want to move up in power. Is this a good place to start?
This has ample room for a C program. You'll want to use the free CodeSourcery GCC toolchain.
The ARM7TDMI on this board has been one of the most popular ARM chips for a long time now, but it's being phased out in favor of the Cortex-M3 line. There will be lots of support available, it'll just be a few years old.
This is a fantastic place to start, especially at this price!
