LilyPad Power Supply

Replacement:DEV-11259. The new version of this board is based on the NCP1402 as opposed to the NCP1400. This shouldn't change the way it acts but it will be able to source more current. This page is for reference only.

A small, but mighty power supply. This board was designed to be as small and inconspicuous as possible. Pop in a AAA battery, flip the power switch, and you will have a 5V supply to power your LilyPad network. Good up to 100mA. Short circuit protected.

This board has AAA battery clips but can use an input from 1.2V to 5V. Our lithium polymer batteries are a good, rechargable alternative.

LilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing. Various input, output, power, and sensor boards are available. They're even washable - but be sure to remove the battery!

Note: A portion of this sale is given back to Dr. Leah Buechley for continued development and education of e-textiles.

I have two LED circuits with the lilypad mircocontroller and this type of power source. Can I attach the one and same button to both of the power sources/circuits, that is to say, I will indirectly be connecting the two power sources in parallel. I know I can't power the lilypad with more than 5,5V, but it will be ok since it is a parallel coupling right?

Yes I'm getting the same issue with no voltage reading across the terminals. What's the deal?

I am not getting power from my supply. Battery tests @ 1.2V, put it in, no power. Fiddling the switch and checking the orientation - all is OK. I have an oscope that tells me I am getting 1.5V across the terminals but 0.0V between the +/- thread pads.
    Anybody else seen this?

Can I solder the thread to this and then sew?

Hey all, I've had some problems when connecting more electronics (2 Arduinos, Xbee and some sensors)to the lilypad power supply. The electronics will need about 90 mA togehter and the voltage just drops, can't handle it.
Any tips or an alternative to power the electronics with a step up? Or is step up just not suited to power many devices?
    Thanks for your comments.

So will this power supply power the lilypad board and the bluetooth mate with just a single AAA battery?
    Thanks-

Is this compatible with the LilyPad Vibe Board?
I'm kinda new to this and i want to know, if I connect these two together and add an AAA battery, will it work fine?

I suppose the chip I could not find the part number in the schematic is a transistor. What is its part number?

What is the chip on the board to ramp up the voltage? Is there a part number for that chip or its data sheet?
