Replacement: None. We no longer carry this board but take a look at our IMU category for more IMU combo boards. This page is for reference only.
The Inertia Measurement Unit Combo Board with the high-precision ADXL203. The ADXL203 sensor is a much higher precision sensor with a range of +/-1.5g. This small PCB board incorporates the Analog MEMs gyroscope and accelerometer in a tight footprint. The IMU board uses a standard .1" header and includes all outputs from both the ADXRS Gyro and ADXL Accelerometer ICs.
We created this board because of the retirement of the Tokin CG-16D piezoelectric sensors. These cheap sensors are now becoming obsolete and difficult to find. The ADXRS sensors from Analog are a great substitute but hobbyists were hindered by the BGA package. By combining the ADXRS with the ADXL sensors, the IMU board enables students and hobbyists to easily incorporate yaw and tilt measurements into their projects or robots.
Board comes fully assembled and tested with ADXL203 and ADXRS613. Units come as shown without headers installed. We recommend right-angle break away headers, straight pin headers, or wire up your own cable!

Note: We found these in inventory and they work fine but we're no longer making them. We'll be selling them at a discount for a limited time but when they're gone, they're gone!

I was disappointed to find, upon plugging this board in and printing out values, that the gyro measures angular acceleration around the Z axis. Contrary to what the datasheet says, this model is not ideal for homebrew Segways. For that application, you want a gyro that measures angular acceleration about one of the axes that one of your accelerometers also measures (in order to filter those two outputs).
Note that this is buyer's remorse, and I should have inspected the datasheets (or photos) more closely before ordering. I'm just posting to make you aware of this.
Nevermind, I'm an idiot
The datasheet shows this board as having a 2.5v reference out, but the board I got doesn't have that, it's like the one shown in the pictures. The datasheet for the ADXL203 chip also lists it as having a +/-1.7G range. I wonder which it is...
Ummm... isn't this actually a 3 DoF IMU?
Lol I noticed that two. Just a silkscreen error I expect.
