SMD Soldering Class - June 9th

The SMD Soldering Class is our very popular course that teaches SMD soldering to anyone who thinks they can't possibly solder those little pins. This will be a hands-on class where the students learn techniques to help them solder surface mount and through-hole components.

Classes take place within SparkFun. We provide all the tools, irons, solder, parts, and seats for 20 to 30 students. You'll be soldering the SMD Simon Kit together. By the end of the night, you will have a functioning game to take home and show off to your friends (we get funny looks all the time).

There is a minimum age requirement of 15 years old, but other than that, anyone is encouraged to sign up. We teach people all the time with no previous soldering experience! And if you know your way around an iron, we can also show you some advanced tips and tricks (flux, wicking, hot-air rework, etc).

We scheduled the class within the end of the workday so that you can beat traffic. Class starts promptly at 6PM!

**Prerequisites: **None! Just bring you.

**What to bring: **Maybe a bite to eat. The class can run past 8PM. SparkFun will provide all the tools, irons and solder.

Date: June 9th, 2010
Time: 6PM to around 8PM
Location:SparkFun
Instructors: Abe and Lindsay

I guess this one isn't being streamed since I can't find it on ustream. Kinda late for me to ask, I guess. :)

You should sell a recorded class for $15, many people would buy it for sure.

My son and I loved putting this kit together at Maker Faire in Austin last year. Too bad no joy in Austin this year. Would have liked to visit with the SF staff, smart, funny and a great bunch of guys/gals.
