I'm interested in this for my kids as an xmas present, but there is very little info here.... can you post the manual or something to give a little more insight into how it is programmed? Thanks!

would not give this to kids. it is a rather advanced kit. try the picaxe robot. it is easy to build and program.

What OS is the included software for? What [other?] development software can be used?

The software is written in Java so it can theoretically run on other platforms. I found more information about this kit here:
      http://robosavvy.com/store/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/19/products_id/353
(from same manufacturer Inex, the controller i-box-3 is the same, the kit's components are slightly different and is called Robo-Box-3.0)

I'm unaware of any other development software that could be used but it works on Windows ME and later OS including Windows 7 here is the system requirements:
      15mb of hard drive space
800x600 or 1024x768 resolution color monitor
      Serial or USB Port
      CD-ROM Drive or Internet Access

  • This looks good! I would buy it if it was cheaper and if there was a schmetic.
