Hello everyone and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This is a bit of an eclectic week, starting off with the new 2GB version of the Raspberry Pi 5! This more economical version of Raspberry Pi's newest single board computer comes with the same computational capabilities as its 4GB and 8GB siblings. We also have a new Telescopic Surveying Pole for our SparkPNT line and a 100-piece pack of our new CBI Light Pipes to show off. Let's take a closer look, shall we?
The newest iteration of the Raspberry Pi single board computer features a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz, and delivers a 2–3× increase in CPU performance relative to Raspberry Pi 4. Alongside a substantial uplift in graphics performance from an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU; dual 4Kp60 display output over HDMI; and state-of-the-art camera support from a rearchitected Raspberry Pi Image Signal Processor, it provides a smooth desktop experience for consumers, and opens the door to new applications for industrial customers. This module features 2GB of LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM.
This is a 100-piece pack of our 5mm right angle light pipes to get the light of an LED out the end plate of an enclosure. We couldn't find a light pipe that fit all our needs, so we made it! This clip snaps over any SMD LED that is 1206 size or smaller. Addressable LEDs 2x2mm or smaller work great! The clip is easily inserted but holds tightly in place, but can be removed if needed. The black housing prevents light bleed between neighboring indicators.
If you are looking for single units, we have you covered!
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another! We'll be back with more new products next week so make sure to check back then. Happy hacking!
