In case you need a little help in order to know when exactly you can place your orders and get them by December 24th, we’ve updated our handy guide for absolute last minute shipping deadlines.
We have SO MANY new products for you today including a new RP2350 Thing+, a new Qwiic five-way directional pad, pre-orders on new quadband GNSS products, and Raspberry Pi released 20+ new products today annoucning their new Compute Module 5 board. We, of course, can't forget about the new Pico 2 W released on Monday, either! So let's jump in and take a closer look at all of this week's new products!
The SparkFun RP2350 Thing Plus is a dynamic and powerful wireless development platform in the Thing Plus form factor. Built around the RP2350 microcontroller from the Raspberry Pi Foundation, this board includes their radio module for single-band 2.4 GHz WiFi 4 (802.11n) and Bluetooth® 5.2 along with standard hardware components found on all Thing Plus Boards. This includes on-board Lithium Ion (LiPo) battery charging and fuel gauge circuits, µSD card socket, Qwiic connector, and the Thing Plus pinout (Feather-footprint), allowing use of the RP2350 Thing Plus in a wide variety of both local and remote applications.
Designed and manufactured in Boulder, CO USA, the SparkFun RTK Postcard is a compact development board for your high-precision positioning and navigation needs. This board combines the Quectel LG290P GNSS RTK receiver with an Espressif ESP32-PICO-MINI-02 MCU module, running our latest RTK Everywhere firmware. The ESP32 provides the SparkFun Postcard with WiFi and Bluetooth® connectivity to operate as an NTRIP caster or client. Meanwhile, the 4-pin locking JST-GH connector allows users to transmit or receive RTCMv3 messages for RTK corrections from a local base station.
This board is now available for pre-order.
The SparkFun Portability Shield adds all the user interface bits needed to take a SparkFun development board into the field. A LiPo battery connector, charger, fuel gauge, and an on/off switch address your power needs. A friction-fit microSD connector allows for data logging. The 1.3in. OLED and a five-way navigation switch provide an excellent user interface. Locking 0.1in. headers along the shield's edge make it easier to solder male pins in place.
This board is now available for pre-order.
The SparkFun Qwiic Directional Pad adds a five-way directional pad to your I2C bus! When connected to a microcontroller, press down on the directional pad (up, down, left, right, or center) to provide additional input for your application. The built-in RGB status LED provides visual feedback indicating which button is pressed.
The Raspberry Pi Pico 2 series of microcontroller boards is built on RP2350and the Pico 2 W adds wireless functionality with a 2.4GHz 802.11n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless radio and on-board antenna.. With a higher core clock speed, double the on-chip SRAM, double the on-board flash memory, more powerful Arm cores, optional RISC-V cores, new security features, and upgraded interfacing capabilities than the previous version. The Raspberry Pi Pico 2 series delivers a significant performance and feature boost while retaining hardware and software compatibility with earlier members of the Raspberry Pi Pico family.
This board is now available for pre-order.
A compete development kit for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, providing all products required to allow an engineer to start a design “out of the box”. This includes a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 32GB Wireless with 4GB RAM, Metal Case, IO Board, Passive Cooler, Power Supply (NA plug), Antenna, and HDMI and USB A to C Cables.
If you're looking to use a different Compute Module 5, we have 16 different options to chose from!
This kit is now available for pre-order.
The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 IO Board breaks out every interface from a Compute Module 5. It provides a development platform and reference baseboard, reducing the time to market for Compute Module 5 based designs.
This is a metal case designed to fit the Compute Module 5 IO Board. The case includes an integrated fan, which can be connected to the 4-pin fan connector on the IO Board to improve thermal performance of the Compute Module 5.
This case is now available for pre-order.
This is an aluminum heat sink designed to fit on a Compute Module 5. It includes thermal pads for maximum heat transfer from the CPU, memory, wireless module (if fitted) and eMMC (if fitted) components to the heatsink itself. We highly recommend using one with the new Compute Module 5 line.
This accessory is now available for pre-order.
The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 is a system on module that delivers the power of Raspberry Pi 5 in a form factor ideal for embedded applications. Featuring a quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor, dual 4Kp60 HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet, optional fully-certified wireless module providing Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth connectivity, and a variety of RAM and eMMC flash options. Compute Module 5 enables you to leverage Raspberry Pi 5’s powerful hardware and optimized software stack in your own custom systems and form factors.
As we mentioned before, if you're looking to use a different Compute Module 5, we have 16 different options to chose from!
These boards are all available for pre-order.
