Welcome back, everyone! It's Friday once again and, as always, that means new products. We've had a bit of a slower week but you should still be able to find something you like! Let's take a look and see what we have.
The Flexible LED Matrix is filled with 256 individually controlled WS2812B LEDs that have been arranged into an 8x32 display. Thanks to its flexible backing, this LED Matrix can be bent and bowed to fit onto almost any curvy surface. You can create animations, scrolling text, or even incorporate them into a fun e-textiles project. Check it out in action:
The BR-LE4.0-S3A is a standalone Class 1 Bluetooth 4.0 module that requires no firmware or external components. We originally ordered these little modules for a wireless board that we ultimately decided to not move forward on. We now offer them bare and by themselves. Also, we won't be reordering them, so once they're gone, they're gone.
The PIC16F877A is a small 44-pin SMD IC that was once used in our old Wall Clock Controller and while we were moving we discovered a few of these leftover ICs. This little guy has a laundry list of features that you can read all about on its product page but we can tell you that it is ideal for more advanced level A/D applications in automotive, industrial, and appliances.
Well that's it for this week. Thanks for reading and checking out the video! Rob will still be out next week at RoboGames with Sgt. Cuddles but we'll be here with more new products for you to check out. See you then!
Maybe I'm just late to the game, but howcome you stopped with your previous Friday New Product Post videos and replaced them with an in depth video about only one of the products? I don't come to the the site too often, and I really miss seeing the FNPP videos in my YouTube feed. I do very much enjoy hearing about the products and getting a brief idea of what they could be used for, it does so much more than just scrolling past them if you go to the site, or seeing only one product in the video talked about in depth.
I also agree him and love classic FNPP videos with red sparkfun boxes wall at the back than these new individual ones.
I too miss the new product Friday videos. After watching some of these, I was inspired to order - and - naturally ordered other stuff too.
I was just thinking the same thing. I miss the old red box wall Friday new product posts. It was bring me to sparkfuns web page every Friday! Usually my wish lists would grow from them but ever since you switched to the new building I haven't added anything to my cart on or wishlist on a Friday.
I agree with that guy. Not that the individual posts are bad, but I liked the videos that include all of the new products.
I personally miss Robert. AND I REALLY MISS HIS BEARD!
Just saw the email version of this post with the subject of, "This flexible 8x32 LED matrix will blow your mind, not your budget!" Really? It reads like clickbait and is so annoying! If I want to see headlines like that, I will go visit Facebook. You have intelligent readers who look forward to seeing your new product emails or posts. I use the emails to remind its the best part of the week when i am not at my main PC to look at the home page.
Not that I don't love the new building... but I miss the red box studio wall. ;)
Hi everyone. We didn't get rid of the Friday New Product Post videos. Robert is on a short vacation and then off to the Robogames to compete. We'll have more official product post videos in the future. There will also be weeks when you just hear from one of our awesome Creative Technologists about the cool new product of the week.
One thing is for sure, have no fear, the beard will be back.
Hi
I have a matrix display with apa102 ICs, It is adopting CMOS process to provide three-color white LED output driver to adjust the output with 256 gray scale and 32 brightness adjustment.. www.rgbledcolor.com
But how can I make it controlled by madrix software, does it need any special controllers? If anyone can do me a favor ,I would be appreciate.
Phil
the 'ell is wrong with you guys???....I'd much rather look at the young lady in today's video!!!
...was gonna make a bad joke about 'beards', but I'll keep that one to myself....
I also miss the Friday video's, I use Friday morning as my video blog catch up day. This includes Sparkfun, EEVblog, Tech Crunch and others. I know the video from Sparkfun wasn't a lot of information, but it was nice to see a comment or opinion for all the new products for the week, and decide later if I wanted to learn more about the an individual product.
