It's time for an annual announcement that requires very little fanfare, so we're just going to leave this right here...
Yes! It's happening! And this year it's happening in September, which historically in Colorado is a much more consistent (read: mild and pleasant) temperature. We don't want to give too much else away, but for now we'll just say we're planning some new and very exciting additions to the Autonomous Vehicle Competition, now in its eighth year. What's that? You want a hint? Very well, we will let this gif do the hinting for us.
Don't worry, more information will be coming soon! Until then...get excited, because we sure are.
That date change doesn't help students, I think June was much better since it was during the summer break.
Along the same lines, as a staff member at a school and/or university, it becomes very difficult to attend and/or spectate once school starts up in the fall.
On the bright side there's all summer to iron out the kinks in your project :)
Given the new UAS rules from the FAA, how do you plan to hold the event regarding UAS vehicles? I would like to see the UAS portion of the AVC done outside as it has been done in the past. With the right safeguards, in my opinion it should be possible to do so under the UAS rules the FAA has published. Thoughts?
Date is not great for people that need to show up at school before then. Kind of squashes our plans to enter this year. Major bummer.
OMG.. I took part in the 2012 PPPRS in Detroit and Chicago. Such a blast! I really hope it is coming here! Unfortunately I just threw out a Power Wheels taking up room in my garbage, because I never thought this day would come.
Better chase down that garbage truck, because the day has come. :)
Was just on Craigslist looking for what's available :-) Will registration be limited to only a certain number of teams?
We just recently confirmed that PPPRS is on board, so we don't have much more info to share yet, but as soon as we do we'll update everyone!
AWESOME!!! And hooray for the date change! Here's hoping for cooler weather!
