It's time to ease into your Monday with this week's AVC recap video. If you're the kind of deranged person that enjoys watching two small, weaponized robots tear each other apart in an arena for human entertainment, then you've come to the right place, because we are too. Join us as we saunter hand-in-claw down a misty-eyed memory lane, dimly lit by the soothing glow of melting, sparking robot parts.
If you've been keeping track and doing your math, you probably guessed that next week will be all about the Power Racing Series and Autonomous Power Racing Series events. Check back in next Monday, when we celebrate the only thing more exciting than autonomous vehicles: ones with humans strapped on top.
I drove 2,200 miles to AVC and all I got was a piece of paper, hunk of brass, and a bee sting on my mouth.
11/10 would totally do it again
-Cuban and KOREA
And don't forget that sweet pint glass, filled with the shattered remains of robots and dreams.
Don't forget a whole passel of memories, too.
When will there be an Autonomous combat robot competition at AVC?
Hey, AVC was super late this year and got too close to other combat bot events for some of us builders. I watched the livestream though; the event and the bots looked real dang decent!
I'd like to see independently tallied scores from the judges (rather than the judge huddle) at future events. With decent money on the line—and thus srs business competitors—objective judging becomes a big deal.
That's a great idea- we're already working on our competitions for next year and scoring/judging is always a big topic..are you talking about bots specifically, or classic avc?
