Hello, everyone! We hope your summer is going well so far...or winter if you are in the Southern Hemisphere. Regardless of the season you are currently in, we have a treat for you with the new ESP32 Thing Environment Sensor Shield and Soil Moisture Sensor with screw terminals to help you obtain plenty of environmental readings! If those items don't interest you, maybe the 1Sheeld+, an IoT Arduino shield, will...or a medium-sized heatsink. Alright, let's jump in and see what we have for you!
The SparkFun ESP32 Thing Environment Sensor Shield provides sensors and hookups for monitoring environmental conditions. While incorporating three sensors capable of measuring five different environmental variables, as well as providing connections for several other sensors, this sensor shield creates the best way to make your ESP32 Thing more accurate than your local weatherman! By simply soldering on a few headers as well as an optional 3-pin screw terminal, your ESP32 Thing Environment Sensor Shield will be ready to detect any type of weather you need it to.
The 1Sheeld+ is an easily configured shield for Arduino. It has a built-in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module that gives to your Arduino the capability to connect itself to your iOS and Android phones. Thanks to the 1Sheeld app available on the App Store or Google Play, you can easily associate your iPhone or Android device to it, turning your smartphone into a shield itself.
Awhile back we released a soil moisture sensor with two large, exposed pads that function as probes for the sensor, together acting as a variable resistor. Now we have this similar sensor but with screw terminals already attached, allowing you to no longer need to worry about any soldering before using the soil moisture sensor!
In a similar vein, a few weeks ago we released the SparkFun ESP32 Thing Power Control Shield. With this Medium Heatsink you will be able to more effectively reduce heat buildup away from your Thing shield. The Medium Heatsink also fits the TO-220 package.
That's it for this week, folks! We hope you've enjoyed everything we have to offer. As always, we can't wait to see what you make with these parts! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made!
Thanks for stopping by. We'll see you next week with even more new products!
