Hello, and welcome to another Friday Product Post! Today we are happy to show off some great new products that will help turn your Raspberry Pi into a PC or enhance the RPi computer you already have. With that, we have for you the Pi Desktop, two new add-on boards for the pi-top product line, as well as a wireless keyboard in custom colors that can be used with any single-board computer, not just the Raspberry Pi. Without further ado, let's dive in and take a closer look!
The Pi Desktop is a desktop computer kit that has been designed to be used in conjunction with a Raspberry Pi. The contents of this kit fit securely inside the included stylish case, allowing you to conceal everything within the enclosure to keep things nice and tidy. With the Pi Desktop you will be able to convert your Raspberry Pi into a full PC with WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth(R), Real-Time Clock (RTC), Camera and SSD (sold separately) capabilities.
With Single-Board Computers (SBCs) on the rise, it is a good idea to have an easy way to interface with them. Operating on a 2.4GHz frequency, the Multimedia Wireless Keyboard possesses a normal-sized key layout, media controls and a multitouch track pad. This keyboard is powered by a built-in 850mAh LiPo battery, providing you with 500--700 hours of use. Even if you don't have a Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone or another SBC, this keyboard can work with smart TVs, mobile devices and full-blown PCs!
The pi-topSPEAKER allows you to turn up the volume on your pi-top or pi-topCEED. This audio board provides a simple way to incorporate sound to your pi-top.
The pi-topPROTO is a HAT-compatible add-on board for prototyping electronics for your pi-top or pi-topCEED. With plenty of space available to build circuits that can interact with your pi-top, as well as a full 40-pin GPIO on top for a desired Raspberry Pi HAT, the pi-topPROTO makes a great addition to the pi-top family.
That's it for this week, folks! We hope you enjoyed more Pi goodness this Friday --- we know we did. As always, we can't wait to see what you make with these parts! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made!
