A fire at SparkFun's credit card gateway brought down credit card ordering yesterday afternoon, but things are all better now.
A common IT euphemism for something spontaneously breaking is a "fire". A good day at SparkFun IT is one where there are no fires to put out.
Looks like our credit card gateway, Authorize.net, had a bit of fire themselves yesterday. Only theirs was for real! The service went down and for a period of a few hours yesterday morning SparkFun was unable to take credit card orders.
Things have since been repaired and everything is humming along again. If you were one of the few who saw an error during checkout with a credit card yesterday everything is now working normally. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Oh, and I hope everyone is having a great 4th. Be safe - don't start any fires!
I live in Seattle, so my channel 4 was knocked out. All of their backup generators were flooded, too.

That's awesome! Thanks for the link.
@ Scott
It is a little humorous how they have water sprinklers in a power facility. It would seem that would only make it worse.
