In a new tutorial we'll revisit some RFID basics, and practice by making a remote work logger using an RFID reader and a GPS module.
RFID is magic - wave a card in front of a little black box and doors open for all to pass. It can be a daunting technology to learn, but we've put together a simple tutorial and resource page that will touch on what RFID technology is and how it works. Then, we'll put together a work punch clock system very "Qwiic-ly". Parts used are our Artemis Nano, SAM-M8Q Chip Antenna GPS, and our Qwiic RFID Kit. You'll wave a card and lock in the position and time you punched in with. After we build the foundation, the sky's the limit of where you could take this project for your own uses. Hang on and enjoy the ride!
We've got a page just for you! Get an overview of the basics of how RFID works, the hardware needed and tutorials to get you started.
