Hello, everyone! We have a couple of new products to showcase today, starting with the new SparkFun Qwiic SHIM Kit for Raspberry Pi. This is a simple kit that provides you with a few basic boards (as well as the Qwiic SHIM, of course) to get your Raspberry Pi equipped with Qwiic as easily as possible. Also this week, we have a new deluxe thumb joystick as well as a USB car charger. Let's jump into the new products!
Fully equip your RPi with Qwiic, a 9DoF and a Serial LCD without any soldering!
The SparkFun Qwiic SHIM Kit for Raspberry Pi comes with everything you need to turn your Raspberry Pi into a fully Qwiic-enabled device. With this kit, you will receive a SparkFun Qwiic SHIM for Raspberry Pi, a Qwiic SerLCD, an ICM-20948 9DoF IMU Breakout, and the necessary cables needed to hook everything together. If you're interested in getting your Raspberry Pi connected with the Qwiic Connect System, you won't find an easier way than with the SparkFun Qwiic SHIM Kit.
This is a 16mm deluxe thumb joystick and is very similar to the 'analog' joysticks found inside PlayStation controllers. Directional movements are provided by two potentiometers - one for each axis. These 10k potentiometers will read the position changes for the joystick's full range of physical motion. This joystick also has a select button actuated when the joystick is pressed down.
Have you ever needed to power a project while in your car? Now you can without having to drag a computer along with this cost effective 5V, 2.4A USB car charger. These car chargers have a standard USB 'A' connector for the output so you can power your Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc. through a USB cable.
