Welcome, everyone! This week we are happy to bring you a new way to incorporate LIDAR into your next Qwiic project, with the Garmin LIDAR-Lite LED v4 with Qwiic. This is the same economically friendly sensor that you know and love but with a pre-soldered Qwiic board, allowing you to plug in a cable and go - no soldering required! Following that, we take another look at our Machine Learning @ Home Kit for NVIDIA Jetson Nano, and a quick look at a tiny SMD IC to add a bit more Flash memory to your boards. Let's jump in!

This is your night tonight. Everything's going to be alright!

Garmin LIDAR-Lite v4 LED - Distance Measurement Sensor (Qwiic)

Garmin LIDAR-Lite v4 LED - Distance Measurement Sensor (Qwiic)

SEN-18009
$74.95

The LIDAR-Lite v4 Qwiic from GARMIN is a high-performance, wireless optical distance measurement sensor that doesn't require any soldering to get started. This is the ideal solution for drone, robot, IoT, or unmanned vehicle operations when space is tight and power is limited. This sensor has up to a 10-meter range, 1 cm resolution, and requires 85 mA during data acquisition. The user can read and write to the LIDAR-Lite v4 using the I2C protocol; this is where the addition of the SparkFun Qwiic system really shines. The LIDAR sensor requires 5V to operate but runs on 3V3 logic. With a 5V boost circuit and an easy-to-use Qwiic connector, you can power the sensor and get distance measurements over Qwiic all with a single piece of hardware.

SparkFun Machine Learning @ Home Kit for NVIDIA Jetson Nano

KIT-18157
Retired

The Machine Learning @ Home Kit for the NVIDIA Jetson Nano helps you take the next step in exploring machine learning with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano and SparkFun Qwiic Ecosystem, and makes life around your home just a little easier by making machine learning work for you.

This kit is designed as an extension kit of the NVIDIA DLI Course Kit and acts as an introduction to machine learning with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano. The kit brings machine output and interaction into the picture through a number of different Qwiic boards!

Serial Flash Memory - GD25Q40CTIGR (4Mb, 120MHz)

Serial Flash Memory - GD25Q40CTIGR (4Mb, 120MHz)

COM-18076
$0.40

The GD25Q40C (4M-bit) Serial Flash supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), and supports the Dual/Quad SPI: Serial Clock, Chip Select, Serial Data I/O0 (SI), I/O1 (SO), I/O2 (WP#), and I/O3 (HOLD#). The Dual I/O data is transferred with speed of 240 Mbits/s and the Quad I/O & Quad output data is transferred with speed of 480 Mbits/s.

That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made! Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!

Never miss a new product!
