SparkFun will be closed on Tuesday, November 5th to support our team in being able to go out and vote! Orders placed after 2 pm MT Monday, November 4th will ship on Wednesday, November 6th. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
We have a few new/revised products we wanted to quickly highlight!
Alright everybody - time for a quick (ok, very quick) product post!
First, we have a breakout board for SPI-to-UART conversion. This board uses the SC16IS750, a handy chip that converts I2C or SPI serial signals to a single-channel, high-performance UART. As an application example: we use this chip on our WiFly Shield to allow an Arduino to communicate with the WiFly RN-131G module.
You can really never have too many LEDs and it seems like you always run out when you least expect it! Save some money and keep extras on hand with our bulk LEDs - like this bag o' RGB LEDs! There are 100 in a pack and we sell them in other colors like red, green, blue, and - yep, you guessed it - yellow.
For use with the Arduino Pro Mini, we have the latest rev of the FTDI Basic. This useful breakout will allow you to easily program your Arduino Pro Mini via USB. Available in both 5V and 3.3V.
We've got more products coming down the pipe, so look for another update in the next week!
Will you guys be offering RGB LED packs for the diffused lensed LEDs?
May your wish be granted!

Yep. Working on it today. Should be up in a few days.
Awesome, I better prepare my wallet when the time comes!
TLAlexander: The Arduino can't use the AVR's SPI?
Thats silly.
Is this comment in relation to the SPI-to-UART conversion product?
The connections go like this:
Arduino (SPI) --- SC16IS750 (SPI) --- SC16IS750 (UART) --- e.g. WiFly (UART)
The goal of the board is to free up the UART on the Arduino by using its SPI capabilities instead.
Does that answer your question?
When are the base plates for the arduino inventors kit comming in. I have been holding off on buying waiting for these to come in.
How about a bag of common-cathode RGB LEDs? And TLC5947 breakout boards to drive them? (And a pony!)
You can get the TLC5940 in 28-pin DIP packaging, which can drive higher currents, albeit fewer LEDs (16). They usually cost less too from distributors like Mouser.com.
Uh... these already are common cathode...
The Arduino can't use the AVR's SPI?
Thats silly.

You guys are awesome, keep the products coming I check most days. Neal. South Africa.
You could have talked about all those things you sell now in that fancy retail packaging of yours.
Shhhhh! Announcement coming shortly! :)
Ohmygod I smell a brick-and-mortar Sparkfun store.
Haha - sorry, nothing that fabulous (yet...someday maybe? Who knows.)
A boy can dream...
