Hello everyone, and welcome back to another New Product Friday! We have a few new products to show off this week and they all start with the new SARA-R5 LTE GNSS Breakout. This hefty board is a standalone version of our popular shield that housed the previous SARA-R4 module we released a few years ago. This is a definite must-look if you are a cellular or GPS enthusiast. Following our new GNSS board, we have a new version of SparkX's Qwiic CO₂ Humidity and Temperature Sensor that uses the SCD41 IC rather than the SCD40. To wrap up the day, we have a new antenna for our SDR (Software Defined Radio) boards! Let's jump in and take a closer look.
The SparkFun SARA-R5 LTE GNSS Breakout is a robust development tool for u-blox's impressive SARA-R510M8S LTE-M / NB-IoT module. The SARA-R510M8S LET-M / NB-IoT module combines u-blox's UBX-R5 cellular chipset with their M8 GNSS receiver chipset to provide a 5G-ready wireless IoT device complete with positioning data - all on a single chip.
The SCD41 Qwiic Breakout is a high quality photoacoustic-based CO₂ sensor capable of detecting 0 to 40000 ppm with high accuracy over 400-5000 ppm ±(40 ppm+5%). In order to improve accuracy the SCD41 has integrated temperature and humidity sensing built in. For additional accuracy the SCD41 also accepts ambient pressure readings!
The TG.09 Penta-band Cellular Hinged Rotatable SMA antenna is a high efficiency monopole antenna. Compared to other much larger antennas on the market, it has superior wide-band high efficiency characteristics.
That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made! Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!
