A few weeks back, we made a homepage post about the Ponoko/GeekDad/SparkFun design competition. The goal of this competition is to see who can design the coolest project that can be made using SparkFun parts and Ponoko's fabrication services and materials. The prize? The person who has the best design (as judged by a panel from Ponoko and GeekDad) will have their project produced by Ponoko and SparkFun - for free!
As you can see on this Flickr Pool, there are some very cool entries already - but can you beat them? There's still time left - the deadline is this Saturday, July 31st. So get designing or enter your already-designed project! To enter, post your sketches, product photos or the final designs on GeekDad's flickr pool by July 31st and tag them 'Ponoko'. It doesn't have to be a totally completed design - even the seedling of an amazing idea can take home the prize!
For more information, check out GeekDad's post about the competition. Good luck!
I'm in for two ideas! I literally can't wait to see who you guys pick for the top ten!
I didn't know about Ponoko until your last post about them. I ordered a couple acrylic keychains with my name and number on them in case I loose my keys. I was thinking about making a case for an alarm clock with a 16x2 LCD and some pretty big speakers, and you have to solve math problems to disable it.
Something like this? http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/lights/d0a5/
It's from Japan!
Great idea! But I'm pretty sure that you couldn't care less about the cubic roots of 32+7i after a night out with a hangover etc :D
