Welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! We have a number of new products to cover today and we start off with a unique one: The SparkFun Power Supply Sample Kit is a collection of our most used wall-adapter power supplies that can help provide you with different options to power your project without having to scrounge for a missing part. After that, two new SparkX products are available with a new RTC smôl board and a PoE (Power Over Ethernet) to USB Power Supply. We'll round out the day with a set of machine screws for our MicroMod boards as well as a programmer for your ESP8266 and ESP32 modules. Let's jump in and take a closer look!
There are a lot of different development boards requiring different input voltages. The SparkFun Power Supply Sample Kit provides you with a sampling of the power supplies that we offer to power your next project. Included in this kit are four different wall adapter power supplies, two at 5V, one at 9V, and one at 12V.
The smôl RTC is a smôl-format board for the RV-8803 Real Time Clock. The RV-8803 boasts some impressive features including a temperature compensated crystal for extremely precise time-keeping, low power consumption, and time stamp event input along with a user-programmable timing offset value.
It can be difficult to get a wall-wart where you need it. The promise of PoE (Power over Ethernet) is great, but what if your device doesn't use Ethernet? Perhaps you could mess with power injectors, but what if you've already got PoE available on your network? The PoE to USB Power Supply is like a USB wall wart for PoE. Get a PoE hub, run Ethernet wherever you need it, plug the PoE to USB Power Supply in and you'll have 5V at 1A via a USB A connector.
The ESP-PROG is one of Espressif’s development and debugging tools, with functions including automatic firmware downloading, serial communication, and JTAG online debugging. ESP-PROG's automatic firmware downloading and serial communication functions are supported on both the ESP8266 and ESP32 platforms, while the JTAG online debugging is supported only on the ESP32 platform.
We've received a lot of feedback about individuals misplacing the screws found on our MicroMod Carrier and Main boards. To be fair, we've been having those same issues! So we've provided this 5-pack of the M.2 screws that SparkFun uses with the MicroMod ecosystem.
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!
