Our LilyPad line (developed by Leah Buechley) is a great line of sewable electronics (sometimes called e-textiles) that allow you to make your clothing or other fabric projects into electronics-filled pieces of art.
Leah Buechley, creator of LilyPad.
While you can certainly do very advanced projects with LilyPad, we also think it is a great segue into electronics for people who would not consider themselves "electronically inclined." With that in mind, we have created a new class - the LilyPad Class.
This class, which will take place on October 21st from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, is not centered around the LilyPad Arduino, but is more geared toward teaching people unfamiliar with electronics or e-textiles how to incorporate LEDs, buttons, and switches into their projects. We are encouraging people to bring in their own projects (Halloween costumes, baby outfits, kites, etc.), but we will have fabric swatches if anyone wants to just play around. Hope to see you here!
I'm think you get this all the time, but post video! I got my girlfriend lilypad stuff for her birthday two years ago and she keeps threatening to do something with it, but seems to lack inspiration. This class would be great but we just can't get to Colorado!
We're toying with the logistics of videos.
There are plenty of great projects out there! Just start googling and get some inspiration for her!
