Hello everyone, and welcome back to another entry of the Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we have something new that a LOT of you have asked for, a Copy Protected version of the MicroMod Teensy Processor! If you're curious what this means, read below and we'll go into a bit more detail. Following that, SparkX has a new Brushless Motor Driver for you to try out.
Before we get into the new products, from December 12th – 23rd enjoy big savings on over 25 Qwiic Development Boards and Accessories. This is our final sale of the year, so if you are still looking for the perfect gift to give this holiday, make sure you give our sale page a check! Additionally, please, please, please, make sure to check out our Holiday Shipping Guide for 2022 to make sure you get your package on or before December 24th. Some of these deadlines have already passed so make sure to give the page a view before deciding on your shipping preference.
Now, let's take a closer look at this week's new products!
The SparkFun MicroMod Teensy Processor with Copy Protection leverages the awesome computing power of the NXP iMXRT1062 chip and pairs it with the M.2 MicroMod connector to allow you to plug it into your choice of compatible MicroMod Carrier Board. This "copy protection" variant comes with additional security that can be applied for commercial products and secure applications. With the M.2 MicroMod connector, connecting your Teensy Processor is a breeze. Simply match up the key on your processor's beveled edge connector to the key on the M.2 connector and secure it with a screw (included with all Carrier Boards).
The SparkFun MicroMod Teensy Processor with Copy Protection utilizes the same hardware as the "Lockable" Teensy from PJRC. When discussing MicroMod Teensy with SparkFun customers, we have seen two fairly distinct patterns. Entrepreneurs care about keeping their firmware from being copied by competitors and the process of permanently locking secure mode can be mentally stressful. So we updated the name to better emphasize the primary customer benefit; "copy protection."
The TMC6300 Breakout is a powerful, yet easy-to-use three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor, driver. Separate high-side and low-side controls allow for incredible control of up to 2A of current. The driver is temperature and short-circuit-protected with a diagnostic output pin to indicate system issues. With an operating voltage down to 2V, the TMC6300 is suitable for battery-powered designs.
The GT-NUCL1633K1 is the latest miniature fingerprint sensor with extensive enhancements on power consumption and user flexibility from ADH-Tech. It allows 360-degree rotation, which enables maximum performance without compromising on design aesthetics. It even works well in less than ideal conditions like when a finger is wet.
This is the 6.5ft version of the Fast Charging USB C to C cable. Charging or powering your USB Type C device can be daunting and finding a cable that fits both your interface and provides safe power levels is a new challenge presented with USB Type C.
With this antenna frequency sticker sheet you can label your antennas. Each sheet comes with 75 stickers of commonly used frequencies.
Have you ever had problems trying to daisy chain Qwiic-enabled boards with only ONE Qwiic connector? Or maybe you need a Qwiic-enabled device that is not in the middle of a daisy chain? The SparkFun Qwiic MultiStar adds five additional ports to boards that have only one Qwiic port on the I2C bus. Due to popular demand (and a few too many ordered), we have reworked the MultiStar into a working (and much safer) celestial version of the MultiPort with five Qwiic connectors. Once added, you can use it as a hub to add as many I2C devices to the bus as you need!
Now, if you want the full kit the the MultiStar is a part of, the SparkFun Constellation MicroMod Kit joins the ranks of the SkeleBoard and the SnowBoard. Instead of releasing a single board this year, we have opted to release a full kit, instead! This kit combines both MicroMod and Qwiic in a single box with a limited edition MicroMod ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar (this year's April Fool's Day joke). No, we aren't joking this time! Due to popular demand, we have reworked the MultiStar into a working (and much safer) celestial version of the MultiPort. Also included in this kit is a MicroMod Screw Driver and two Qwiic Cables to get you hooked up! The ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar included in this kit feature a matte black PCB with a star scape design in white silk.

Additional rules: Only one free Processor per order. There is an order limit of five max per customer. No rainchecks or backorders will be allowed. We will not be allowing the combining of orders during this sale. Distributor and Reseller accounts will not be eligible.
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another! We'll be taking a break from new products next week so we can spend some time relaxing for the holiday and spending time with loved ones. Happy holidays, everyone!
One other minor point: When I click on TODAY'S DEALS I see the SparkFun Sunny Buddy - MPPT Solar Charger as "DEAL of the WEEK", but it has an annotation of "Valid until 12/15 11:59pm". My clock/calendar currently shows that was about 9 and a half hours ago...
The Deal of the Week should now be updated to the SparkFun Micro OLED Breakout. Sorry for the confusion on what products were on sale.
Minor point: The Fast Charging USB C to C Cable with LCD - 6.5ft (100W) "headline" describes it as an LCD, but both the second photo on the page and the "Features" show LED. Although there is only one letter difference, it's a completely different technology!
