Hello everyone and welcome to the final Product Post of the year! This week, we have a new version of our Qwiic Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi. This new version of the kit updates a lot of the boards and sensors from the original kit so this is a kit you'll definitely want to check out if you are a fan of Raspberry Pi, but not so much of one for soldering. Following that we have two versions of the new Rev2 Arduino Nano BLE Sense boards.
As a reminder, SparkFun will be closed on Monday, January 2nd in observance of the New Year holiday. Any orders qualifying for same day shipping placed after 2:00 p.m. MST on Friday, December 30th will be processed on Tuesday, January 3rd when we return to normal business hours.
Now on to the new products!
Ready to get started with Raspberry Pi and Qwiic? The SparkFun Qwiic Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi includes the SparkFun Qwiic pHAT v2.0 for Raspberry Pi, which adds four Qwiic connectors to your Pi. It also includes four Qwiic-enabled boards: SparkFun VCNL4040 Proximity Sensor Breakout, SparkFun Micro OLED Breakout, SparkFun BME280 Atmospheric Sensor Breakout, and SparkFun SGP40 Air Quality Sensor. We have also included plenty of Qwiic Cables to connect everything together!
The Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense (either with included headers or pre-soldered) is an evolution of the traditional Arduino Nano, but featuring a lot more powerful processor, the nRF52840 from Nordic Semiconductors, a 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M4 CPU running at 64 MHz. This will allow you to make larger programs than with the Arduino Uno (it has 1MB of program memory, 32 times bigger), and with a lot more variables (the RAM is 128 times bigger). The main processor includes other amazing features like Bluetooth® pairing via NFC and ultra low power consumption modes.
This is a very handy magnetic mount for survey grade GNSS/GPS antennas. Sturdy, compact, and surprisingly strong, this is a quick way of mounting your antenna to metal roofs, parapets, and other ferrous materials. The rod is threaded 5/8" 11-TPI (threads per inch) found on high-end surveying antennas and equipment. Additionally, the mount is tall enough to prevent kinking or collision between the TNC connector, cable, and the roof surface.
That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another! We'll be back with more new products next week so make sure to check back then. Happy New Year, everyone!
The SparkFun Qwiic Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi looks great, BUT... I haven't seen a Raspberry Pi (other than a Pico) available for more than a year... Any indication that any might be coming through anytime soon?
Hmm, I saw in the news from the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Eben Upton under the blog post "Supply chain update – it’s good news!". Hopefully, we'll see them back in stock eventually. =)
