With these three classes combined, you can rule the Simon universe.
Today we are going to talk about a few upcoming classes we have in the works. This group of classes, which I like to call the Holy Triumvirate of Simon, will teach you all about building and using the SparkFun Simon Kit. Check them out!
First we have the PTH Soldering Class. In this class, which takes place on March 20th, 2012 from 6 PM until about 9 PM, you'll learn the basic of through-hole soldering as you build you very own Simon Kit. We'll teach you the tips, tricks, and tools of the trade you'll need to start building your own embedded electronics projects. At the end of the class, you'll have a functioning Simon game.
Then on March 21st, 2012 from 6 PM to around 10 PM (depending on how fast of a solderer you are), we are hosting the Simon SMD Soldering Class. In this class, you'll learn how to solder more advanced surface mount parts. It's best if you have familiarity with soldering (or perhaps took the PTH class the night before). Once again, you'll leave with a functioning Simon Kit, this time of the SMD variety.
And lastly on March 22nd, 2012 from 6 PM to about 10 PM, we'll have the Simon Sketch Class. In this class, you'll learn how to take your already-built Simon and repurpose it for use with Processing. All three of these classes are a great base to learn more about soldering, embedded electronics, programming, and Processing. Hope to see you there!
Does sparkfun having Microcontroller simulator & emulator for (PIC,ATMEL,Intel,ARM)? Also I am looking for compilers.. what will be the best product?
This is a big question. We don't supply these products, preferring to point people towards open-source tools.
There's a lot out there, but for the Atmel processors, we use the Arduino IDE and WinAVR. For ARM processors, we use WinARM. For PICs, most people use MPLAB. Some of these products contain simulators, but mostly we run on the actual hardware.
What else do people use and recommend?
any word on bringing these to say online in some fashion?
if only it was in england! i might move to boulder just to do this.
So do you mean Triumvirate instead of Triumverate? ;)
Well, I got it right in the title. Which means I'm batting .500, which isn't too shabby.
Thanks!
