Today we have a special edition of "According to Pete." Back in September, a group of SparkFun employees traveled to the World Maker Faire in New York City. Pete sat down with several "friends of SparkFun" including Limor "Ladyada" Fried from Adafruit and Jessica Uelmen from Parallax. Check it out:

Everybody I talked to, from the start of the Open Hardware Summit to the last of MFNY, was really cool. I know that this will come off as some sort of suck-up line, but this is a really awesome time to be doing what we do. Most feel that we (all participants in DIY and open hardware, not just SFE) are changing the world. And I've gotta say, I feel pretty good about it.
I love Limor's pink hair! Somebody dye Nate's hair "Fireball Sparkfun Red".
I applied for Jessica's job as I thought that Dir of Eng @ Parallax would be one of my dream jobs. They took about a month to call me in for an interview, but I'd already found another job. I'm pleased to see it went to someone who seems really enthusiastic about it !
Great to see Limor and Phil from before Sandy trashed New York (and lots more). They've been posting photos from their off-the-grid experience on their website and G+.
As usual I did miss "Limor “Ladyada” Fried from Adafruit", which also happened last year and probably the first time. I think I spoke with that gentleman from Parallax or at least saw him at work. I Know I spoke with several of the Sparkfun employees who were at the show.
