PodSocket Breakout
The PodSocket v1.0 pulls all 30 pins from the female dock connector and makes it easy to attach wires. This includes the PodSocket Board and a soldered female connector. This is the connector found inside iPods and iPhones, so you can interface a project with docks and accessories that would normally connect directly to an iProduct.

Core Skill: Soldering
This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.
Skill Level: Noob - Some basic soldering is required, but it is limited to a just a few pins, basic through-hole soldering, and couple (if any) polarized components. A basic soldering iron is all you should need.

Just got this thing, and can't say I'm too impressed, especially for the price.
The soldering is atrocious. And whatever flux they used definitely needed to be cleaned off (and wasn't). nasty oxidized mess.
And worst of all, the silkscreened numbers are all in reverse order! Their pin 1 is actually connector pin 30! Made for a good bit of confusion for me, trying to ring out a cable. Could be much worse if someone blindly trusts the label, and ends up letting the magic smoke out of their iPhone because they shoved +V into the wrong place.
I just bought one of these and I am looking for more documentation. The link under Documents: (printout) take me to a black page please help

Are these really on order or should I just see about getting one else where?
they are, but the supplier isn't the fastest.
lol... thanks. I was just wondering because I have wanted to buy this since June and I have seen the date get pushed back at least 3 times now.
BTW, is this board spaced so it would either bridge the DIP rail on a breadboard or plug into an IDC? I'd prefer to not have to run 30 wires to hack around on this interface.
yikes, I don't actually know for sure. I'm sure they're evenly spaced, but not sure what the spacing is.
honestly, if you can find someone with them in stock, go for that. keeping these in stock is always pretty tricky.
