This tip is not the one that shipped with my FX-888. Instead it was the Chisel (T18-D16).

will this work with the hakko 936b?

    • No, the inner diameter is smaller on 888 tips. The heating element won't fit in it.

This fit perfectly on my 907 Iron, used with a Hakko 936. It appears to be the same in/out diameter compared to the tip that came with the iron originally (T18-D16).

Excellent tip!

Very easy to replace the tip on Hakko FX-888. I was skeptical about its ability to transfer heat due to its size, but that concern quickly vanished when I soldered my first wire with this tip. I even got a finer tip from Hakko and found no difference in heat transfer from either tip... must be the excellent design of the Hakko soldering station.

Trusty tip

Been using the same tip for over 2 years of frequent soldering projects. Still going well. When used with a brass sponge they are long lasting and good at heat-sinking. Also they turn blue from the heat over time, kind of looks cool. Can't get that from a cheap tip.
