This is a very strong multi-use tool. The Hakko 30AWG wire strippers can be used as shears, multi-diameter, and pliers. These are an essential part of anybody's arsenal and can strip 30AWG wire wrap wire nicely, as well as the standard 22AWG hook-up wire.

This is a very well maid set of strippers. My detest and I both love this tool. It goes through insulation of fine wires far better than front teeth do. Seriously, this is a fine tool. :) I'm only giving four stars because it doesn't do well with larger wire gauges under #20. Recommended!
I've had the big clunky electrician's wire strippers and they are horrible for small gauge wire, they don't cut much of anything, they're heavy, etc.
Reverse all those statements and you've got this pair of cutters. I haven't cut anything bigger than 16 awg high strand count, but that's pretty good. I've had these for several years and they're still going strong.
My one minor complaint is the same as one of the other reviewers - minimum wire gauge is 20awg, whereas I routinely need to strip 16 and 18awg.
Works as advertised. Fully functional. Use them almost everyday. Looks like they will last for a long time.
This is well made precision tool. the action is smooth. they do their job very well, even at the smaller wire sizes. Definitely worth the investment.
Big thumbs up for these. I bought them directly from Hakko after the cheap wire strippers Sparkfun offered previously failed miserably with 30 AWG wire. Best $10 I ever spent.
Right after I got the old ones!
Are these stainless?
