Have a project that needs some good power? Do you like free power provided by our friend, Mr. Sun? Check out this high quality, high output, fully enclosed solar panel with a nice solid aluminum/plastic frame. The panel is capable of 2 watts in the open sun with a peak power output around 6V at 378mA.
The termination is equipped with a 3.5mm x 1.1mm barrel plug and 5.5mm x 2.1mm adapter on a 22cm (8in) cable making the panel able to mate directly with many of our development boards. Each panel also features monocrystalline high efficiency cells at 19% with a waterproof urethane coating with hard-board backing. With robust sealing for out door applications this solar panel is incredibly durable and reliable!

Tested output on this panel on Jan 14th around noon. (Winter sunshine) Summer time numbers will be better
A V Load
0.380 - 0.4 - 1 ohm load
0.380 - 0.8 - 2 ohm load
0.390 - 1.5 - 4 ohm load
0.395 - 3.0 - 8 ohm load
0.370 - 5.7 - 16 ohm load
350 to 380mA is probably the maximum you can expect from this panel.
If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.
Skill Level: Noob - You don't need to reference a datasheet, but you will need to know basic power requirements.

Robust and sturdy, feels like a quality product - works very well also!
Hi, I was wondering if there is any additional information regarding the connection for the panel. Is the plug center positive?
I assume the polyurethane coating holds up to UV exposure better than the epoxy coating on the old models, but has anyone had one of these outside for 6 months or so and can comment on how they look?
Would this cell work for the SparkFun Sunny Buddy? The description for the Sunny Buddy says there's a minimum voltage requirement of 6V, which this panel is rated for.
