SparkFun Micro 6DoF IMU Breakout - LSM6DSV16X (Qwiic)

Looking for an extremely accurate way to detect motion utilizing AI? We've got you covered with the Qwiic-enabled, SparkFun LSM6DSV16X Micro 6DoF IMU Breakout. The LSM6DSV16X, from STMicroelectronics, is a high-performance, low-power 6-axis IMU, featuring a 3-axis digital accelerometer, and a 3-axis digital gyroscope, with a triple core for processing acceleration and angular rate data on three separate channels (user interface, OIS, and EIS) with dedicated configuration, processing, and filtering. With its 0.3in. x 0.75in. Qwiic Micro footprint, this accelerometer will fit into most, if not all of your smallest projects.

The triple core of the LSM6DSV16X enables processes in edge computing, leveraging embedded advanced dedicated features such as a finite state machine (FSM) for configurable motion tracking and a machine learning core (MLC) for contextual awareness with exportable AI features for IoT applications.

Additionally, Qvar (electric charge variation detection) is embedded in the LSM6DSV16X for user interface functions like tap, double tap, triple tap, long press, or L/R – R/L swipe.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can’t hook it up wrong.

SparkFun Micro 6DoF IMU Breakout - LSM6DSV16X (Qwiic) Product Help and Resources

Core Skill: Programming

If a board needs code or communicates somehow, you're going to need to know how to program or interface with it. The programming skill is all about communication and code.

3 Programming

Skill Level: Competent - The toolchain for programming is a bit more complex and will examples may not be explicitly provided for you. You will be required to have a fundamental knowledge of programming and be required to provide your own code. You may need to modify existing libraries or code to work with your specific hardware. Sensor and hardware interfaces will be SPI or I2C.

Core Skill: Electrical Prototyping

If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.

2 Electrical Prototyping

Skill Level: Rookie - You may be required to know a bit more about the component, such as orientation, or how to hook it up, in addition to power requirements. You will need to understand polarized components.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot, it was BMA400 and I found the correct product page. facepalm

Hey there Sparkfun - Was there an earlier/different rev of this PCB that had different silkscreen on it? I received one of these in a goodie bag from a conference and it looks almost identical to this module but it does not have the part number printed on the top surface -- instead there is a very small Sparkfun logo, The only text on the back that seems not to be marking address pads or pins seems to say DMA400 (although I'm not 100% sure because I haven't looked under the microscope yet). Am I looking at the right module page?
