You can clearly see where the boards were once together. Why not leave them together in case we need something wider and let us break it ourselves?

It would be great if Sparkfun offered traces on this protoboard like the single sided version: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8808

I would jump on that like a bird on a junebug.

Aw, I was hoping it'd be an interesting color like the dark blue one in the pictures. Mine are boring PCB green too =(

warning, these don't always come in blue. Mine are green.

Does anybody know how the via connects the holes? (Like which holes are connected?)

What does the big hole on the top center do?

    • Far_Seeker / about 13 years ago / 2

The big hole is a mounting hole. Also, the term "via" in the context of electronics means plated hole used to connect two different layers on a PCB (as opposed to Latin where it can mean "way" or "road"). This being a double sided board, the vias only connect the pads on one end of a given hole to another. There doesn't appear to be traces connecting pads on either side of the board. However, the single sided version of this board does have some pads connected by traces (basically in lines three pads long, except around the mounting hole).

    Are the holes plated through?

    • SFUptownMaker / about 13 years ago / 1

Yes, the holes are plated through, including the mounting hole.

  • Are the top and bottom solder points connected with a via?
